MEET OUR GUIDES
RICHARD
Richard is a zoologist, linguist, a certified teacher, a certified guide, and an all around great guy! He has worked for Pedals & Paddles since 1999, and has taught hundreds of customers the finer points of paddling, as well as entertained many on day excursions and multi-day trips up Sechelt Inlet. Having a Mexican mother and a German father, Richard has a quick ear for languages, and can speak Spanish, German, Japanese (due to his time spent teaching English in Japan), and of course, English. He also has a degree in Zoology, so can actually answer your questions about the local flora and fauna. And if you like to eat...he's the one to have along, as he is a great cook!
NATHAN
Nathan is an Environmental Educator, a storyteller, a certified teacher, and a certified kayak guide. This will be Nathan's first season with Pedals & Paddles, but he has worked and played extensively in the outdoors with youth and adults. He is also a graduate of the University of Victoria and Canadian Outdoor Leadership Training school at Strathcona Park Lodge, where he received his guide training. His passion is to educate youth and the young at heart about our natural suroundings, and the way we can all make a difference on the world we live in. He is also a master storyteller, and will keep you spellbound with his yarning tales. And if there is no time for a story, he may tell a good joke or two.
ANDRE
One of the originals, Andre has been paddling BC for over 30 years and guiding for the past 10 years. He holds Level I Instructor CRCA, Wilderness First Aid and Marine Radio Operators certifiaction. He enjoys sharing his love of kayaking and the outdoors with others, making him a great guide. He speaks both English and French.
